About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse III to join our team in the Cardio Pulmonary Surgery department at Albany Medical Center. This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse III will be responsible for assessing, coordinating, and managing the needs of assigned patients throughout their episode of care. This includes planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of patient care provided by the caregiving team. The successful candidate will have excellent nursing judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assess and Evaluate Patient Needs: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying areas of concern and developing individualized plans of care.
2. Coordinate Care Delivery: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate the delivery of patient care, ensuring that all necessary interventions are implemented and that patients receive seamless transitions between care settings.
3. Provide Direct Patient Care: Administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
4. Lead and Develop Team Members: Supervise and guide ancillary personnel, maintaining standards of professional nursing and promoting a culture of excellence and respect within the team.

Requirements

• Nursing Education and Licensure: Graduate of a professional academic nursing program; current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Clinical Experience and Skills: Previous experience as a PCA or other nursing assistance preferred; knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques.

Albany Medical Center offers a competitive salary range of $36.73 - $60.93 per hour, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
