Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Peri-Anesthesia Care Unit in Jacobs Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Perform uncomplicated technical procedures and participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Utilize a variety of technical equipment and supplies to support patient care.
  • Provide basic patient care support, including patient transport, specimen and blood transport, and inventory management.
  • Cross-train to the role of Hospital Unit Secretary and participate in collaborative team environment.
Requirements
  • Active California CNA license.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Demonstrated ability to observe deviations from normal.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of CNA experience.
  • Previous acute care experience.
  • Demonstrated EKG experience.
  • EPIC, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Bilingual: Spanish/English.
