Job Description

This position will involve carrying out site investigations, environmental assessments, and cleanup activities involving soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling. You will review site characterization and corrective action reports for releases of hazardous substances, pollutants, and contaminants. Additionally, you will provide technical assistance to the public and other government agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections, site investigations, and environmental assessments involving sampling of soil, groundwater, and surface water.
  • Review site characterization and corrective action reports for releases of a wide variety of hazardous substances, pollutants, and contaminants.
  • Provide technical assistance to the public and other government agencies.

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in assessing sites, collecting soil, groundwater, and surface water samples, and reviewing environmental assessments and cleanup reports. You will also learn how to use and maintain field screening and sampling equipment.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in geology, earth system science, earth and environmental sciences, or related field.
  • One year of geological experience.

A graduate degree in geology can substitute for one year of experience. Registration by the Board of Registration for Professional Geologists can also substitute for the required education. This is a full-time position with opportunities for development and upward movement within the cabinet.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $63,000 - $83,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off, this position also includes:
