Job Summary

The Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist position is a clinical in nature and requires specific training in psychiatric rehabilitation and clinical expertise in the treatment of persons with brain disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen referrals to Supported Housing for appropriateness.
  • Provide assistance to choose, obtain, and keep housing of the individuals' choice with the least amount of supports necessary for the maximum amount of independence.
  • Provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, social rehabilitation, psychiatric rehabilitation, and illness management/recovery to individuals.
  • Provide consultation with Case Managers and the individual in establishing and maintaining independent living environments.
  • Good clinical judgment is mandatory.
  • Sound fiduciary judgment is key to satisfactory job performance.
  • Required to participate in staff meetings, assisting individuals' needs assessment, treatment planning, and implementation.
  • Develops and maintains a network of public and private housing and community resources.
  • Act as a liaison between individual and the community. Networks, links, advocates for consumer with Center programs/services.
  • Oversee all consumer fiduciary matters while they are residing in any one of the program's supervised living environments.
  • Prepare individual, program, and administrative reports as required. Demonstrate ability to document in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Completes all administrative and competency training as identified in the Individual Training Plan.
  • Driving required.
  • The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others and to accept constructive criticism from supervisors and managers.
  • Willingness to abide by the company's published rules and regulations.
  • Leading group activities, interacting with patients, conducting assessments, and documentation.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, planning, and intervention skills.
  • Must possess good problem-solving, advocacy, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform accounting and mathematical functions.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills are basic to this position.
  • Good handwriting/computer and documentation skills are essential.

  • It is mandatory that this employee be empathetic and treat consumers with dignity and respect.
  • Initiative, accuracy, and dependability are important.
  • Must be able to work with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Must be able to advocate for individual's rights and network community resources.
  • Must be able to collaborate with fiscal department and clinical programs.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to effectively lead verbal and non-verbal group activities.
  • Ability to accurately observe and describe human behavior with documentation and verbally.
  • Knowledge of group and individual activities beneficial for mental health and/or substance abuse treatment.
  • Great interpersonal interaction skills.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to acquire a Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) certification within 3-6 months of hire.
  • A minimum of one year (1) of experience with mentally ill/co-occurring population is required.
Driving Requirements
  • Must be over the age of 21 required.
  • Minimum of 5-years driving experience required.
  • Possess a Valid FL Driver's license (within 30 days of hire if currently do not possess).
  • Possess a continuously valid US Driver's license for the past three years, from date of issue required.
  • Safe Driving record required.
