Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Boat Launch Maintenance and Navigation Safety Maintainer. This is a seasonal position that requires a strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance tasks at state boat launch facilities, including launch and dock repairs, painting, mowing lawns, raking, picking up trash, brush cutting, and pruning.
  • Complete and assemble launch condition reports for state boat launches statewide.
  • Construct and install signs and signboards, track and deliver signage and miscellaneous equipment, and line stripe parking lots.
  • Maintain and replace navigation aids and regulatory markers on Connecticut's waterways.
  • Assist, lead, and train boat launch maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Work aboard agency boats and perform office work and miscellaneous duties as required.
Requirements
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Knowledge of and experience maintaining a recreational boating facility, park, or camp is preferred.
  • Incumbents in this class may be required to obtain and retain a Basic First Aid Certificate and meet other special requirements.
