Job Summary:

Fastenal is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our distribution center in Winona, MN. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks on our facilities, equipment, and fixtures in production. This is an entry-level position that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance on conveyors, motors, and gears
  • Respond to verbal or written requests for repairs or maintenance on production equipment
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions on hydraulic and electric machinery
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area
  • Comply with health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations
  • Participate in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety, and sustainability objectives

Requirements:
  • 18 years of age or over
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving record requirements
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities
  • Strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills
  • Motivated, self-directed, and customer-service oriented
  • Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages that typically weigh 25-50 pounds and may weigh up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, and constantly walk, stand, and climb
