Overview:

The Colorado Catholic Conference is a unified voice of the state's Catholic bishops in public policy, promoting the common good aligned with Catholic social teaching.

About the Role:

We seek a skilled Policy Associate/Associate Director to represent the Bishops of Colorado before government branches and national organizations. This dynamic professional will collaborate with the Executive Director in administering tasks given by the CCC Board of Governors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Analysis & Advocacy: Evaluate and respond to public policy issues at various levels, determining their impact on the Catholic Church in Colorado.
  • Government Relations: Develop a deep understanding of specific policy issues affecting the Church and create effective strategies for advocacy.
  • Community Engagement & Outreach: Foster relationships with parish representatives, strengthen legislative involvement, and promote awareness about policy issues through events and training sessions.
  • Communications Support: Assist in creating engaging content for the website, social media, and external communications to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Data Collection & Reporting: Gather data for reports highlighting the Catholic Church's economic contributions and assist in preparing agendas for the Board of Governors' meetings.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain strong working relationships with the three Colorado dioceses and represent the organization in national and state policy meetings.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the legislative process and Catholic Social Teaching
  • Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and products
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with experience in public policy, government relations, or law, Spanish language fluency, and lobbying are preferred.

Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is around $65,000 - $85,000 based on industry standards and location.
