Domestic Violence Advocate Role

Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances. As a Domestic Violence Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct service to program participants, including managing inquiry calls, completing phone screenings, and developing and implementing case plans for success.
  • Offer ongoing case management, advocacy, domestic violence education, and support services to clients during their participation in the program.
  • Maintain an active caseload of 15-20 clients and complete client record documentation professionally and on-time using the Agency's electronic medical record system.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, JFCS agency meetings, and community partner meetings as a representative of JFCS when appropriate.
  • Represent JFCS and Shelter Without Walls in the community and help build and maintain partnerships with community agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
  • Bilingual Spanish-English required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with victims of domestic violence.
  • Significant knowledge of and interest in domestic violence intervention with families and children.
  • Ability to work independently on specific assignments and be flexible as specific tasks may change.
