    • Review and analyze ultrasound images for clarity and completeness before submission.
    • Provide preliminary findings or impressions based on images, adhering to professional and legal guidelines.
    • Ensure all images are labeled correctly and stored in the hospital's EHR system or PACS.
  • Post-Procedure Care:
    • Assist patients after procedures, ensuring stability and comfort before leaving the room.
    • Remove gel from patients' skin and offer tissues or towels for cleaning.

    • Advise patients to follow up with their physician for review of results or further treatment.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
    • Regularly inspect and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and good working condition.
    • Perform basic troubleshooting for equipment malfunctions and report technical issues for repair.
    • Sanitize the ultrasound probe between patients, following infection control protocols.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of procedures performed, including patient information, images, and reports.
    • Ensure all documentation complies with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient confidentiality guidelines (e.g., HIPAA).
    • Store images and results correctly, making them accessible for review by physicians or radiologists.
  • Collaboration with Medical Team:
    • Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment.
    • Communicate effectively with physicians and medical staff to discuss image quality or potential findings requiring further investigation.
    • Assist in preparing reports or documentation as needed for medical records or treatment planning.
  • Professional Development and Training:
    • Participate in continuing education opportunities, staying current with ultrasound technology advancements and imaging techniques.
    • Maintain certifications and licensure required for ultrasound technology, including RDMS certification and BLS certification.
    • Assist in training new sonographers or students in proper ultrasound equipment operation, patient care, and safety protocols.
