The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Neurology Clinic Lead Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.

Job Description

About the Role:

  • This position reports to the Manager and works under general supervision to provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process;
  • You will deliver safe and effective care, interacting with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired outcomes;
  • In this role, you will work in coordination with nursing leadership to ensure the achievement of optimal evidence-based patient care and department goals through efficient daily operations and compliance with established rules, regulations, and guidelines;
  • You will assist with providing leadership presence and staff support.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including triaging and preparing patients for appointments, assisting with various procedures such as skin biopsies and Botox injections;
  • Coordinate patient care and treatment plans through telephone calls and messages;
  • Work closely with the clinical staff to ensure patients' healthcare needs are met while encouraging staff to work to their highest potential in every aspect of patient care.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree and a minimum of two years of work experience as a registered nurse required;
  • Current South Carolina licensure as a registered nurse or compact state required;
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent required;
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes;
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance;
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception;
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities;
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements;
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations;
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required;
  • Ability to work in a latex-safe environment.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this position is $83,400 - $110,500 per year, based on the company's average salary range for similar positions in the location.
