Technical Writer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for our cutting-edge work on critical programs related to national security.

Job Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain technical documents, including references, manuals, and published standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to compile highly technical information into easy-to-understand content.
- Develop and edit user guides, operation manuals, and other documentation for various cyber system architectures.
- Interview subject-matter experts to gain a deep understanding of technical work.
- Maintain points of contact lists and disseminate them as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of relevant experience with similar technical writing efforts for the Department of Defense (DoD) or DoD contractors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a superior command of the English language.
- A proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for prioritization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to obtain Secret level security clearance.
