Key Responsibilities

">

This position involves safely switching railcars and safe train movement.

">
  • Obtain and receive information and act on oral or written instructions via various communication devices.">
  • Monitor and report daily work.">
">

Additional Responsibilities

">

This role requires operating track switches and derails to change train routing within yards or on road.

">
  • Check switch points for proper alignment.">
  • Judge and control speed and clearance distance of cars.">
  • Observe and monitor track conditions, including broken rails, defective switches, and weather-related problems.">
  • Determine train make-up by inspecting cars per federal regulations.">

Work Environment and Conditions

">

This role requires working in extreme all-weather conditions, walking on uneven surfaces, and performing tasks in a safety-sensitive environment with loud noise and fumes.
