Construction Accounting Director

GPAC is currently seeking a skilled Construction Accounting Director to lead our accounting team. This exciting opportunity offers a long-term financial leadership position in a growing company.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop into a CFO and build a team that grows with them. They will receive mentoring support from the incumbent financial leader and participate in financial decision-making that affects the company.

The chosen candidate will help develop and implement strategic plans to improve the overall financial position of the company, supporting the company's growth opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and support to accounting staff overseeing accounts payable, work in progress, fixed assets, human resources, payroll, and benefits.
  • Maintain job cost systems and interfaces with Project Management to accurately invoice and collect A/R ensuring timely collection and proper documentation.
  • Candidate must be a team player that is flexible, collaborative, optimistic, cooperative, self-motivated, with a desire to excel in a fast-paced, goal-driven work environment.
  • Must possess project and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to reliably meet deadlines with an attention to detail/quality and extremely high accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at various locations is required.
  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of month-end close and general ledger functions. Support preparation of monthly financial statements and quarterly comprehensive financial reporting package, including detailed management discussion and analyses.
  • Develop, analyze, and implement strong internal and financial controls that safeguard Company assets and follow best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience working with construction organizations preferred.
  • 5-10 years of financial management experience.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
