Opportunity Overview

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to join our Pathology team. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, benefit eligible position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex procedures in blood bank, chemistry, hematology, serology, microbiology, urinalysis, and phlebotomy.
  • Obtain and receive specimens, perform clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures, understand method principles, perform quality control, perform preventative maintenance, and interpret results as to accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.
  • Work independently, organize work to meet established deadlines, record all data obtained, and maintain job competence.
  • Perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory procedures according to established standards and procedures, using proper technique and equipment in the performance of duties to assure biological and physical safety and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist MT/MLS/MLT/CLT by ASCP or equivalent, required within 6 months of hire.
  • B.S degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related science from an accredited school preferred
  • Non-traditional routes to establish skill level may be accepted after review of experience and education.
