Job Summary
MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Per Diem Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing mammography imaging exams on patients with a mammogram exam ordered by a physician.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality imaging exams while working in a dynamic, complex team-oriented environment
Utilize approved protocols and procedures to image patients, bringing questions forward before imaging
Demonstrate critical thinking to analyze and evaluate cause-and-effect outcomes and effectively implement solutions
Ensure patient studies are reviewed for accuracy, coded, and charged appropriately
Collaborate with radiologists to address patient care concerns and notify them of gross pathological findings
Participate in quality assurance activities on technical equipment and resolve image quality issues
Communicate effectively with patient care providers, patients, and guests, practicing responsible use of communication tools
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) program
Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and licensure by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Work Environment
Work in a safe environment, free of hazards, and provide full attention to patients and procedures
Implement safety and fall precautions, communicate needs with team members, and recognize patient distress signs
Administer contrast agents, utilize sterile or aseptic technique, and review medications and allergies
