Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Weill Cornell Medical College. As a Medical Assistant - Procedures, you will play a critical role in supporting our clinical operations and ensuring the smooth delivery of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care as it relates to specialized procedures within the practice.
- Greets registered patients at time of visit and triages patients through the patient flow process.
- Answers phones, responds to inquiries, and triages calls to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains a sterile environment and ensures standard infection control precautions are observed.
- Prepares exam rooms prior to patient visit and cleans rooms and instruments between patient care responsibilities.
- Inputs patient data into the practice management system.
- Assists providers/nurses with specialized procedures and ensures proper set-up prior to each procedure.
- Reviews patient consent for appropriate signature(s) and confirms with patient antibiotic and pre-op prior to procedure being performed.
- Performs time out with provider once patient is in procedure room.
- Monitors and ensures clinical equipment is functioning properly and escalates issues to supervisor.
- High School Diploma
- Approximately 1 year of related experience in relevant specialty area
- Training/previous experience with relevant procedures within the practice is required
- Completion of a medical assistant training course that includes phlebotomy training is highly desired
