Heavy Duty Diesel Equipment Technician

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Equipment Technician to join our team at US Foods, Inc. in Plymouth, MN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
- Perform preventative maintenance according to company standards to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
- Document all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts accountability in a timely and accurate manner.
- Handle road service calls and perform rescue/transport services as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety regulations and guidelines.
- Manage inventory and maintain accurate records of parts usage and availability.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to achieve shared goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic.
- Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification (or both) is highly desirable.
- Prior experience administering PM programs and managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, communicate effectively with coworkers and drivers, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The estimated salary for this role is $42,480 - $51,960 per year, based on a starting hourly rate of $32.05 and assuming 40 hours of work per week.
- Overtime compensation and a retention bonus are also available.
- Benefits may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
Additional Information:
- This role requires a CDL A and DOT certification, which can be obtained through additional training and certification.
- Familiarity with computer software and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs are essential for success in this position.
