About the Role

Our client, a specialized talent search firm focused on the construction industry in the New York City area, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team.

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year

Job Description

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Administration, or equivalent related work experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills
  • Analyze plans, specifications, proposals, and documentation to prepare bid estimates for carpentry and drywall portions of projects
  • Review, create, and submit quality estimates with detailed proposals
  • Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, job site walk-throughs, and maintain professional working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and peers
  • Review project data, including historical labor productions, equipment, and material costs
  • Perform pre-construction activities, such as submittals, contract approval, and job setup
  • Follow-up with awarded contracts, including estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, and procuring materials
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Estimator
  • Knowledge of construction processes and terminology
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with estimating software, such as On-Screen Takeoff, Quickbid, or other similar tools
  • Excellent communication skills, both internal and external
  • Former field experience is a bonus
