Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Careers. As a key member of our Receiver, Exciter, & Back End Processing (REBEP) Department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting land and sea-based radar systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the sustainment of legacy radar systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and patching.
  • Port legacy Unix tools to modern Linux or identify replacements.
  • Support software integration, testing, and verification.
  • Assist in proposal writing.
  • Occasional travel to other Massachusetts locations.
Requirements
  • Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 5 years' of prior work experience OR an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' of prior work experience.
  • Embedded C and/or Ada software development experience.
  • Experience with FPGA development.
  • Experience developing on VxWorks and Linux/Unix platforms.
  • Experience working with VMEbus-based systems.
  • Radar domain experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using a VMEbus analyzer.
  • Experience using version control systems.
  • Experience developing in C++.
