Job Summary

As an MRI Technologist at HealthStar Inc. - Equip Your Future, you will be responsible for preparing patients for MRI procedures, calibrating and adjusting equipment, and performing all functions of the MRI exam independently. You will also be responsible for maintaining examination rooms, stocking necessary medical and radiologic supplies, and processing related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including preparing facilities in accordance with procedural requirements and calibrating and adjusting equipment.
  • Perform all functions of the MRI exam independently, including determining appropriate methodology and techniques to use and selecting appropriate imaging devices.
  • Maintain examination rooms, including stocking necessary medical and radiologic supplies and processing related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  • Use all safety protection and adhere to all MRI protocols, including ensuring equipment is in working order and reporting equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Perform basic patient care and be willing to train in other areas.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MR) certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of diagnostic/imaging procedures and protocols, PACS, RIS.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic/imaging equipment, including safety hazards common to radiology.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality, as directed by HIPAA standards.
  • Knowledge of medical chart reporting and records.
  • Knowledge of clinic/medical practice procedures related to all medical operations.
  • Skilled in customer service and have a pleasant and courteous demeanor while dealing with all patients and callers.
  • Well organized and detail oriented, with the ability to work independently without much supervision.
  • Skilled in critical thinking, communication, influence, and decision making.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of office staff and team.

Mental and Physical Requirements
  • Combination of sedentary, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching activities.
  • Requires normal vision range and the absence of color-blindness.
  • Ability to transfer patients to MRI equipment.
  • Occasional stress from balancing multiple demands.
