The Lab Services department provides comprehensive laboratory testing services, including specimen collection, accessioning, and recording of lab test results.
As a Medical Lab Technician Assistant, you will be responsible for performing and reporting lab tests, evaluating specimens, and maintaining knowledge and records.
Key Responsibilities:- Follows policies and procedures under supervision.
- Performs and reports lab tests.
- Evaluates specimens, prepares, and labels them.
- Maintains knowledge, records, and transmits results.
- Implements quality control, calibrates, and troubleshoots equipment.
- Assists in training and maintains confidentiality.
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Associate degree program focused on laboratory science or medical technology.
- Completion of military medical laboratory training as a Medical Laboratory Specialist.
- Preferably certified by ASCP, AMT, or NCA, or eligible; CLIA 1988 compliance within 6 months.
- Understanding of basic physiology, appropriate test selection, and interpretation of abnormal results.
