The Welcome Center, an initiative of New Life Centers of Chicagoland NFP, aims to empower residents in their journey towards independence. By partnering with Illinois Department of Human Services and organizations like New Life Centers, we provide holistic services that address various needs. Program Coordinator Position Overview:

This full-time position, 40 hours per week, involves effective program coordination and implementation within the community. The Program Coordinator will oversee a team of Case Managers responsible for matching services to residents' needs. Local travel (reimbursable) and access to a vehicle are required. Pay is commensurate with experience, and this position is in-person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Case Managers in planning and implementing program activities.
  • Delegate tasks as necessary to ensure team members' success.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for partner communications.
  • Educate youth and staff on expectations, roles, and responsibilities through information sessions.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts to engage participants.
  • Ensure knowledge of available services and facilitate accessibility through the Case Management team.
  • Maintain daily and weekly communication with the direct team and Supervisor regarding program updates, needs, and challenges.
  • Collaborate with the team to plan and coordinate logistics for community activities, including admission, transportation, paperwork, etc.
  • Clearly communicate goals and objectives to the team while maintaining accountability.
  • Prepare necessary documents, receipts, and correspondence for consistent evaluation and timely report submission.
  • Participate in regular follow-ups with the Program Director to meet goals and maintain team well-being.
  • Develop and participate in performance plans to enhance personal development and training when needed.
  • Supervision includes on-site visits, regular check-ins, and break-out planning meetings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of participant contacts and services provided, assisting the data and development teams with data collection and reporting.
  • Approve credit card reports and timecards as applicable.
  • Promote exceptional customer service and hospitality to residents.
  • Foster resident engagement with NLC program activities.
  • Ensure accuracy in budgeting and spending plans.
  • Participate in required surveys, evaluations, and audits.
  • Demonstrate adherence to New Life Centers' values.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions.
  • Assess volunteer needs and collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to coordinate volunteer services.
  • Supervise volunteers during programming.
  • Maintain open communication with the Program Director to ensure goal attainment and address program/staff/resident needs.
  • Support the NLC team and volunteers in maintaining healthy boundaries and self-wellness.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Become a Certified Mandated Reporter; training provided.
  • Pass a background check with no pending cases.
  • Clear Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System background check.
  • Cleared National Sex Offender Registry background check.
  • Access to a working phone and phone number.
  • One year of experience in human services, providing direct services to at-risk youth.
  • Cross-cultural competency.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Will to be trained and proficiently use relevant database(s) and information tracking systems.
  • Maintenance of participant confidentiality.
  • Establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license, insurance, good driving record, access to a vehicle; subject to driving background check.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
