Job Description

At the Institute for Comm Living, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Credentialed Alcoholism Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing direct services to individuals struggling with alcohol and substance abuse disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to determine the substance abuse needs and preferences of our clients;
  • Provide individual and group counseling to address substance abuse issues and promote recovery;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local treatment centers and service providers;
  • Ensure clients have necessary transportation and support for substance abuse appointments;
  • Provide harm reduction counseling and cognitive-behavioral relapse prevention techniques;
  • Collaborate with peer counselors and linkages with Buprenorphine and Methadone programs;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and reports;
  • Attend regular clinical meetings, staff meetings, and in-service training.

Requirements:

  • Current CASAC or CASAC-T certification;
  • At least 3 years' experience providing direct services to individuals with substance abuse disorders;
  • Effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals and populations;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
