Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team at Children's National Hospital - AH. As a member of our critical care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric critical care nursing
  • A valid RN license and current BLS certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Current COVID-19 and booster vaccines required with no exemptions

Benefits

  • Guaranteed hours: 36 Hours/week
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4
  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • No background or license issues are allowed
  • Compliance and all documentation must be submitted by the Monday before the start date
  • Must have flexibility to make up any missed shifts within the same week
  • One holiday shift is guaranteed; additional shifts dependent on facility needs

  • Experience in critical care positions may require floating between units such as NICU, PICU, and CICU
  • Return staff policy: Must have been gone a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler
  • Non-smoking facility with zero tolerance
  • Orientation modules are self-reported and must be completed prior to orientation
