Medical Unit Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Unit Care Specialist to join our 27-bed medical-surgical unit at Cheshire Medical Center. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
About the Role
This is a full-time position working 12-hour shifts, starting at 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of five-to-one. As a Medical Unit Care Specialist, you will apply the nursing process to make informed decisions, document relevant data, and develop effective care plans under general supervision. You will also participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including cardiac telemetry training, ACLS verification, and leadership development courses. Additionally, you will be part of an active unit practice council promoting shared governance and contributing to decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform comprehensive caregiving tasks as a member of a competent and committed team on Kingsbury, a 27-bed medical-surgical unit.
* Collaborate with colleagues to achieve high-quality patient outcomes and foster a positive work environment.
* Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring patients receive evidence-based care and timely interventions when necessary.
* Utilize critical thinking skills to assess patient needs, identify potential risks, and respond promptly to emerging situations.
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes, adhering to established standards and protocols.
Requirements
* Currently licensed Registered Nurse in the State of New Hampshire
* Minimum of one year nursing experience preferred
* Current certification in BCLS
* Excellent assessment, communication, interpersonal, and organizational/time management skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond calmly in emergency situations.
