Special Education Professional

Job Summary
The Special Education Teacher at Woods Services is responsible for designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students assigned to their classroom.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the functioning level of each student and develop goals and objectives based on this assessment.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the program and participate in the client's interdisciplinary team.
- Design and implement IEPs for each student assigned to the classroom.
- Maintain and utilize adaptive/assistive equipment and devices.
- Prepare and implement daily written lesson plans.
- Maintain a positive, safe, healthy, and controlled learning environment, ensuring supervision of all assigned students.
- Direct activities of instructional aides and assure implementation of established instructional procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining certification and developing professional skills by participating in training sessions and courses.
- Direct and coach all staff members in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- Possession of a current Pennsylvania Professional Certificate in Special Education.
- Experience in developing and implementing special education programs and classroom management for students with developmental disabilities or related experience is preferred.
