LICENSED PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT - INTERNAL MEDICINE

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a committed, full-time Licensed Physician Assistant to become a vital part of our esteemed internal medicine practice. Our facility caters to patients aged 15 and above, focusing on primary healthcare needs, and is led by a physician with a prestigious medical education.

In this position, you will operate autonomously while working closely with our diverse healthcare team to oversee the treatment of patients with complex, acute, critical, and chronic conditions. Key responsibilities encompass:

  • Performing thorough history and physical assessments tailored to individual patient requirements.
  • Prescribing suitable pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment alternatives.
  • Implementing strategies to assist patients in achieving or maintaining physiological stability.
  • Making necessary referrals and collaborating with various team members.
  • Educating patients and their families to support informed healthcare decisions.
  • Diagnosing and managing acute infections, injuries, and illnesses.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic examinations such as x-rays and electrocardiograms (EKGs).
  • Documenting and evaluating patient medical histories, diagnoses, and symptoms.
  • Guiding patients in health management and formulating treatment plans.
  • Providing medication oversight, including discussing potential side effects and interactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Order and assess diagnostic tests as necessary, consulting with the supervising physician when required.
  • Review patient laboratory results and assist the physician with follow-up communications.
  • Manage routine prescription renewals.
  • Conduct preventive care appointments as well as consultations for acute illnesses.
  • Handle a patient load of 10-18 individuals daily, with the flexibility to accommodate up to 21 patients in exceptional circumstances.

WORK SCHEDULE & BENEFITS

  • No after-hours on-call responsibilities; these are managed by the physicians.
  • No standard weekend shifts; occasional time may be needed for lab reviews or other administrative tasks, with compensation considered accordingly.
  • Attractive compensation package, including eligibility for a year-end bonus pool, comprehensive benefits, and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions after one year.
