Research Scientist

The Materials Research Institute at Penn State University is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our team. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for leading research projects in the area of nano-catalysts and photocatalysis for degradation of organic pollutants and hydrogen generation by water splitting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, synthesize, and characterize nano-catalysts and photocatalysts using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and infrared spectroscopy
- Develop and implement novel synthesis methods for nano-catalysts and photocatalysts
- Collaborate with a team of researchers to advance the understanding of nano-catalysts and photocatalysts
- Conduct experiments and collect data to support research goals
- Present research findings at national and international conferences
Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in physics, radiation materials science, materials, or a related field
- Strong research record and experience in nano-catalysts and photocatalysis
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
