**Job Description**


We are seeking an experienced Diesel Equipment Technician to join our team at GPAC. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines, ensuring the proper functioning of company vehicles and equipment.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with experience working with heavy equipment and automotive vehicles. A valid driver's license and CDL are preferred. DOT certification and ASE certifications are also highly desirable.


**Essential Responsibilities**



  • Maintain and repair diesel engines, including troubleshooting, inspecting, and repairing or replacing parts as needed.
  • Coordinate with the manager to ensure the availability of necessary parts and supplies.
  • Recognize potential problems and perform or order necessary repair work, coordinating with other mechanics as needed.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Supervise the Mechanic's Helper, ensuring that they perform all work as required and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment safely at all times, wearing required safety equipment and following safety guidelines.
  • Perform all required inspections and follow environmental regulations, disposing of chemicals and trash in designated areas.
  • Keep the shop area and tools, shop vehicles, and equipment neat, clean, and in good repair.
  • Drive shop vehicles to various plant sites, road calls, or other sites of broken equipment.
  • Drive broken and repaired equipment when necessary.
