Job Summary:

The Sterile Process Technician is responsible for the care and preparation of surgical instruments and supplies. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to maintain established inventory levels by checking supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Orders supplies for the area
  • Performs the appropriate testing of all sterilizers and keeps accurate records
  • Maintains established inventory levels by checking supplies and equipment

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Instrument technician experience, 2 years or equivalent experience in hospital materials management department
  • Sterile Processing Certification Required
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of standard precautions, aseptic technique and principles of sterilization and instrument handling
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
