Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled MRI Assistant to join our team at Spire Orthopedic Partners. As an MRI Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our MRI center, providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate computer literacy and proficiency in EHR systems.
- Greet and prescreen patients before entering the MRI suite.
- Assist patients with completing screening forms and escort them to the MRI suite.
- Provide dressing requirements and garments as necessary.
- Assist with transferring patients to the MRI table or wheelchair.
- Set coils for procedures and position patients on the MRI table with the technologist.
- Assist with cleaning the table for the next patient and entering charges in the EHR system.
- Manage and support a full MRI schedule daily by maintaining the MRI orders log, contacting and scheduling patients, and making live reminder calls to avoid no-shows or cancellations.
- Clean and stock linen and medical supplies, and assist with ordering MRI supplies.
- Keep changing rooms and the MRI suite tidy and organized.
- Work with a teamwork attitude focused on providing quality patient and family-centered care in a safe, efficient, effective, and timely manner.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must complete MRI Level two safety training within two weeks of being hired.
- Exceptional customer service and patient care skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform all responsibilities with diligence to established professional codes of conduct and ethics.
- Ability to interview and screen patients of all age groups related to safety issues with magnetic resonance imaging.
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive relationship with patients, physicians, and other MRI center staff.
- Knowledge of hazards involved in MRI work and precautions necessary in handling such hazards.
- Maintain and display knowledge and understanding of the importance of accurate and timely documentation of care.
- Ability to deal with stressful demands due to patient flow, emergencies, and stat requests, and multiple interruptions.
- Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Valid CPR certification.
