Job Description:

The Counter WMD Systems Engineer role at Leidos involves supporting the development of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance tools to counter threats from weapons of mass destruction. Our team utilizes cutting-edge technologies to leverage non-traditional sensing modalities.

This position demands sensitivity to client and operational customer needs, thorough analysis of system specifications, and detailed understanding of relevant test and demonstration requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with clients and technical teams to translate functional needs into technical specifications.
  • Interpret and design functional tests, present and validate technical results, and develop technical criteria for technology transition.
  • Seek novel applications or end-users for counter-WMD technologies in development.
Requirements:
  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering field, with 4+ years of national security project experience.
  • Relevant System Engineering experience (4+ years).
  • Experience as a Developer, Researcher, or End User with technologies designed to counter Weapons of Mass Destruction.
  • Understanding of DoD Acquisition processes and the 'Systems Engineering V' relating requirements to specifications.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse clients across national security and intelligence communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with design techniques (circuit analysis and design, programming and debugging, machining and manufacture).
  • Novel technologies of interest to the DoD (AI/ML, additive manufacture, space-based communications, synthetic biology).
  • Advanced WMD sensing methodologies (acoustics, hyperspectral imaging, standoff chemical detection).
Pay Range:

$85,150 - $153,925.

Note: This pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors are considered in extending an offer, including responsibilities, education, experience, and internal equity.
