Emergency Department Technician

This is a Full-time (72 hrs/2 week) 12-hour Evening (mid) shift, with a rotating work schedule that includes weekends. Located at Scripps Mercy in Hillcrest. As an Emergency Department Technician, you will support emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under supervision, assists nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions.
- Performs assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection.
- Transports patients and/or provides coverage for the unit secretary.
Qualifications:
- Certified CA state issued EMT (EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) or CNA
- BLS Healthcare Provider Certifications through American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting
