Exciting Opportunity for a Breast Surgical Oncology Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our team at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. This is an excellent opportunity for a PA who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in breast surgical oncology.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing breast cancer surgery. The role will involve serving as a Surgical First Assist, conducting peri-operative care, managing pre- and post-operative patients, and performing minor surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Surgical First Assist in breast oncology procedures, utilizing precision and skill with surgical instruments, sterile techniques, and compliance with operating room protocols.
  • Conduct comprehensive peri-operative care, including history, physical exams, and care planning in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Manage pre- and post-operative patients, with a focus on wound care and healing.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures, such as drain placement/removal, wound care, and biopsies.
  • Communicate effectively with the care team, patients, and families, offering education and guidance.
  • Support a positive, team-oriented environment.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.
  • Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $173,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
