Austin History Center Association Director

The Moran Company is seeking an exceptional Executive Director to spearhead the Austin History Center Association's mission.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding leadership abilities, diplomatic demeanor, and a passion for preserving Austin's history. This strategic role encompasses internal leadership, external engagement, and budget oversight.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies, ensuring fiscal stability and increasing direct funding to the Austin History Center.
- Collaborate with the Board and staff to create visionary plans for the campus expansion and culturally relevant programming.
- Represent AHCA as a visible advocate, engaging with the City of Austin and broader community to expand awareness of the organization's mission.
- Foster partnerships with local and regional history stakeholders and other relevant organizations.
- Recruit, train, and develop staff, interns, and contractors to lead critical programs and projects.
- Maintain an organizational culture that values transparency, collaboration, and innovation.
Professional Qualifications & Personal Characteristics:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant management experience or volunteer work, preferably in nonprofit management.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, budgeting, accounting, and risk management.
- Ability to build rapport with volunteers, staff, donors, and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with technology aspects of operations, such as accounting systems and membership databases.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with advanced or history-related degree preferred.
Compensation Package:
A competitive salary in the range of $110,000, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid time off, parental leave, long-term disability insurance, and professional development funds.
Location:
This position requires the ability to work some evenings and weekends and occasional travel may be required.
