About the Job
The Army National Guard's Human Resources Specialist plays a vital role in supporting Soldiers' careers and providing personnel assistance to all divisions within the Guard. As an HR Specialist, you will help develop Soldiers' Guard careers and provide support in various areas, including personnel records management, data entry, processing recommendations, arranging awards ceremonies, preparing evaluations, and coordinating requests for ID cards and leaves of absence.

- Preparing, updating, and coordinating requests for evaluations
- Preparing and monitoring Soldier requests for ID cards and tags, leaves of absence, and passes
- Maintaining office supplies and filing systems
About You
We are looking for individuals with excellent business administration skills, able to follow detailed orders, and possess sound people skills. In civilian life, an HR Specialist could work in any business that requires personnel or human resources experience.
Training and Benefits
You will learn valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Job training requires 10 weeks of Basic Training and 9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training and on-the-job instruction. You will learn basic typing skills, how to prepare Army correspondence and forms, how to manage personnel records, and computer update and retrieval procedures.
Compensation Package
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a monthly paycheck, paid training, Montgomery GI Bill, federal and state tuition assistance, retirement benefits, low-cost life insurance, 401(k)-type savings plan, student loan repayment program, health care benefits, VA home loans, bonuses, and more. Your estimated annual salary is around $25,000-$35,000 based on your performance and location.
Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
- Must meet citizenship requirements
