About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fashion Instructor to join our team at Harper College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching pattern drafting, draping, and garment construction courses.

Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to share their expertise with students and contribute to the growth of our Career and Technical Programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and developing courses in pattern drafting, draping, and garment construction
  • Maintaining and improving competence in subjects being taught
  • Preparing course materials and assessments
  • Evaluating student presentations and portfolios
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in Apparel or Fashion Design (or a related field)
  • At least three years of experience working in the fashion industry
  • A solid professional network and ability to build relationships with students, staff, and industry partners
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications would be advantageous:

  • Experience in Accumark Gerber CAD pattern making
  • Knowledge of technical fashion design, fit, and sewing specifications
  • Garment construction and design skills
  • Familiarity with industrial sewing equipment and assembly methods
