Job Summary

The Electrophysiology Lab at UC Davis Health is a specialized invasive procedure suite where cardiac electrophysiology procedures are performed on patients from neonate through geriatrics. We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technician to join our team as an integral part of the EP team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the technical equipment used during complex EP procedures, including Mac Lab, x-ray equipment, and endocardial mapping equipment. A strong knowledge base that includes experience in a Cardiovascular Lab setting is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and electrophysiology, as well as the ability to provide pre- and post-EP teaching explanations of procedures and emotional support to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

40% - Assists with Performance of all EP Invasive and Interventional Procedures (EPS, ablation, PM, ICD, lead extraction, loop recorder, etc.)

40% - Knowledge of X-Ray/Digital Equipment

10% - Maintains the Quality and Safety of the Work Environment

10% - Provides Pre- and Post-Op Care

Requirements

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR

American Heart Association (AHA) or UCDH-issued Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

American Heart Association (AHA) or UCDH-issued Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 3 months of hire

Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialists (RCES) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire

High School Diploma or equivalent

1 year EP Tech experience

Ability to perform all roles of the EP Scrub Tech

Preferred Qualifications

RCIS

RCES

Graduate of an accredited Electrophysiology Program

Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Program

2-year EP Tech experience
