Established in 1948, Design and Production Inc. is a renowned provider of comprehensive services for museums and high-profile institutions.

We are currently seeking an Exhibition Lighting Specialist to join our team. This hourly, full-time position offers a competitive salary of $$55-$65/hour depending on experience, plus benefits.

As an Exhibition Lighting Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and testing lighting equipment, including receipt, shipping, troubleshooting, and installation;
  • Collaborating with shop personnel to pre-fit and install lighting fixtures, power supplies, junction boxes, and conduit into exhibits;
  • Coodinating with subcontractors and other trades to ensure a smooth installation process;

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven skills in permanent installation and construction;
  • Knowledge of systems such as DMX, ETC, Lutron, and Crestron;
  • Training or experience with major lighting manufacturers such as ETC, LSI, Leviton, Strand, or Color Kinetics;
  • Basic soldering and electronics repair skills (moving light repair a plus);
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics;
  • Familiarity with lighting control programming and rapid prototyping (Arduinio and Raspberry Pi experience a plus).

This role requires the ability to travel to site projects for installations, a strong record of safety, and passing a background check to work on government facilities if needed.
