Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nursing Care Specialist to join our team at the State of South Carolina. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Salary Range: $77,500 - $85,543 per year, based on verified work-related nursing experience.
Job Description:
- Plan and Implement Patient Care Plans: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, ensuring that each person receives high-quality care tailored to their unique needs.
- Provide Leadership and Guidance: Mentor and supervise nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence, respect, and compassion within our facility.
- Assess and Evaluate Patient Needs: Conduct thorough assessments to identify physical or emotional illnesses, formulate effective treatment plans, and evaluate outcomes to ensure optimal care.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors by enforcing infection control protocols, managing medication, and performing clinical skills with competence.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Nursing Degree: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
- Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina is mandatory.
- Certifications: Some positions may require certification in Basic Life Support and/or Basic/Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of medical and nursing terminology, ability to communicate effectively, and proficiency in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
