Bond Vet is a mission-driven organization dedicated to strengthening the human-animal bond through better pet care. We offer primary and urgent care, ensuring pets receive the best possible attention when they need it most.
Our clinics are designed with pets and their owners in mind, providing a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment that prioritizes their needs. We balance this focus on animal welfare with cutting-edge technology, all developed in-house, allowing us to innovate and improve our systems for the benefit of our team, clients, and pets.
We're proud to be vet-founded and led, with a culture centered around learning and development, career growth, and empowerment. Our unique offerings include work-life flexibility, competitive pay, and opportunities for professional advancement.
This leadership role at Bond Vet offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled veterinary nurse to take on a leadership position within our clinics. As an Area Lead Nurse, you will be responsible for guiding and inspiring our support team members through various developmental activities, working closely with the clinic leadership team to ensure optimal patient care, medical quality standards, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, including the ability to develop and administer initiatives and training programs, as well as ensure high-quality patient care and lead by example. This role also involves collaborating with other leaders to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, auditing staff and facilities, and maintaining Idexx lab logs.
We're looking for a motivated individual who can demonstrate the following key qualities:
- Continued Education: A lifelong learner continuously develops the skills and perspective required to meet the needs of the team and hospital.
- Developing Nurses and Assistants: Aware of the developmental goals of those on their team and provides resources to take on challenging tasks and assignments.
- Clear and Effective Communication: Sets clear expectations, equitably distributes workload, and communicates clearly as a team leader.
- Drive for Results: Takes initiative, meets or exceeds objective goals, troubleshoots solutions, or identifies someone who can.
- Effective Teambuilder: Blends individuals' strengths, creates a strong Team spirit, fosters openness, and a sense of belonging.
- Managing Vision & Purpose: Communicates vision in an inspiring way, breaks larger goals into chunks, celebrates progress, and encourages momentum.
- Peer Relationships: Builds strong relationships with team members, both new and established, collaborates to solve problems, and delivers candid feedback.
- Prioritization: Has good time management skills, determines which issues require immediate attention, and takes action accordingly.
- Safety Management: Fosters a culture committed to the safety of team members, pets, and clients.
- Self-Awareness: Has self-knowledge of strengths and weaknesses, proactively seeks feedback from team members and peers, and develops action plans to address concerns.
- Veterinary Quality: Understands factors contributing to overall Quality of Care and works successfully to fortify them throughout their Clinic.
Requirements for this role include:
- A veterinary technician certification or licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT), regardless of state mandates.
- 4+ years experience as a veterinary technician.
- Previous experience in a managerial role within a veterinary clinic or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
In return for your expertise and passion, we offer a competitive salary range of $72,000-$87,000 annually, depending on experience. Additionally, you'll enjoy benefits such as medical, dental, and vision plan options, mental health support programs, great PTO, fully paid parental leave, discounted services for pets, 401k with partial company match, and commuter benefits.
