Shipping and Receiving Associate

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Associate to work in East Hartford, CT. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving:
- Unload and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders or invoices using SAP systems.
- Ensure proper storage of received items according to company standards.
- Shipping:
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items securely, creating necessary documentation, and labeling packages accurately.
- Utilize UPS and FedEx systems for shipping tasks, including scheduling pickups and coordinating logistics.
- Inventory Management:
- Update inventory records in SAP to reflect received and shipped goods.
- Perform cycle counts and assist in physical inventory counts as required.
- Handling Equipment:
- Use manual pallet jacks for moving materials within the facility.
- Create and assemble shipping boxes and other packaging materials.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols to prevent injury and damage to goods.
- Keep the shipping and receiving area clean organized.
- Technology Proficiency:
- Proficient use of SAP for inventory management.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipping processes.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving, preferably with exposure to SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Familiarity with LTL shipping and logistics preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory tracking and shipping.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills with a willingness to learn new systems quickly.
