Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document patient medical history and perform physical assessments
  • Use proper techniques and procedures according to accepted standards of practice and center policies and procedures
  • Ability to apply dressings and assess status
  • Ability to safely use medical equipment per manufacturer's instructions for use
  • Ability to insert, assess, or discontinue various catheters and tubes
  • Effectively organize and avoid wasteful practices of time, equipment, and supplies
  • Observe universal precautions
  • Attend all required education
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Regulatory/Compliance

As a Registered Nurse, you will contribute to the progress and development of our center's compliance program. You will perform according to accreditation requirements, regulatory standards, and center policies and procedures. You will also adhere to patients' rights and responsibilities and support them in performance of job duties.

Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI)

You will perform according to the center's adopted policies and procedures. You will ensure compliance with the center's adopted quality assurance performance improvement program (QAPI), policies and procedures. You will also proactively contribute to the QAPI process and identify your own role and contributions.

Safety

You will adhere to best practices and regulations adopted to provide safety in the workplace. You will use surgical safety checklists and monitor the center's physical environment to ensure the maintenance of safety, comfort, cleanliness, and efficiency. You will also report observed or suspected safety violations and hazards to the Safety Officer.

Communication

You will be able to professionally and effectively communicate patient care needs and significant information to the healthcare team. You will work collaboratively with center leadership on patient and staff scheduling according to policies, procedures, and center needs. You will also be able to effectively present information, respond to questions, and professionally interact with physicians, managers, employees, clients, vendors, and the general public.

Teamwork

You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team. You will delegate staffing duties appropriately to unlicensed assistive personnel and LVN/LPN, according to scope of practice and center policies and procedures. You will also report observed or suspected safety violations, hazards, and policy/procedure non-compliance to Center Leader, Safety Officer, and Clinical Director.

Financial Practices

You will use center resources appropriately and avoid wasteful practices. You will report wasteful practices and analyze work area to make recommendations for potential cost-effective improvements.

Professional Competence

You will participate in continuing education and other learning experiences. You will maintain membership in professional organizations per center requirements. You will also seek new learning experiences by accepting challenging opportunities and responsibilities. You will share knowledge gained in continuing education with center personnel and assist Center Leadership with orientation and training of new personnel.

Essential Values, Codes of Conduct

You will demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to the Code of Conduct. You will adhere to the Scope of Practice and support the center's mission statement and goals. You will comply with the center's standards for ethical business conduct and work with Center Leadership to ensure patient and physician satisfaction.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

You will be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

You will be able to understand, read, write, and speak English. You will also be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. You will be able to successfully write business correspondence and effectively present information, respond to questions, and professionally interact with healthcare team, clients, vendors, and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY

You will demonstrate an ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and correct errors. You will be able to interpret a variety of instructions and forms to understand abstract and concrete variables. You will also be able to think critically using inductive and deductive reasoning.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

You will be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time, i.e., 6-8 hours per day. You will also be able to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds in weight. You will be able to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously without 'giving out' or fatiguing. You will also be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

You will work in a well-lit, ventilated, and climate-controlled environment. You will also be able to work with medical and office equipment, some of which will have moving parts. You will be able to work in close proximity to patients, co-workers, and physicians. One Saturday a month is required for Per diem RN's. Pay Rate based upon experience. Holidays off.
