Safety Specialist

This position is responsible for leading field safety initiatives across Port Wilmington and collaborating with the Mid-Atlantic Safety Director to implement and manage the HSE program.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with Port Wilmington Safety Policy and OSHA regulations.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures through direct interaction and group training.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure working conditions meet OSHA standards and Port Wilmington safety processes.
- Participate in safety and security audits and coordinate corrective action feedback.
- Lead safety training, meetings, and toolbox talks as assigned.
- Collaborate with terminal warehouse management and ship superintendents to address safety concerns.
- Monitor the execution and effectiveness of corrective action.
- Participate in accident and incident investigation teams.
- Maintain confidentiality of company incident files and documentation.
- 4-year degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Engineering preferred.
- OSHA certifications preferred.
- Valid TWIC credentials and driver's license required.
- Proficient in MS Office Applications.
