Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced administrative professional to provide comprehensive support services to a district director in the Operations department of the Juneau School District.

Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time 12-month position working 37.5 hours per week, with an estimated annual salary range of $56,112 - $71,934 based on a starting hourly rate of $26.91. We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) plan, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the district director, including preparing reports, maintaining records, and coordinating tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure seamless interactions between staff, students, and parents.
  • Stay up-to-date with district policies, procedures, and regulations to provide accurate guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, making travel arrangements, and processing paperwork.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business administration, secretarial science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of prior clerical experience, preferably in a school district setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to compose clear and concise reports, memos, and correspondence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Fingerprinting and background check required.
