Certified Nursing Associate

Certified Nursing Associates (CNAs) play a vital role in enhancing the living experience for seniors at Tabitha's communities. As a CNA PRN Student Flex, you will perform various care activities and related services, contributing to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our seniors. This role requires a high level of professionalism, respect, and care in delivering services that uphold Tabitha's LIVE2Care Culture and Core Values.
Responsibilities
As a CNA PRN Student Flex, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Following through on comprehensive care plans developed for each individual senior, including assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring, and continence.
- Providing therapeutic care as described in the care plan, including the use of strength, agility, and stamina for frequent/continuous transferring of seniors from and to bed, wheelchair, bathtub/shower, commode, etc.
- Assisting with senior admissions, discharges, transfers, and orientation of new employees.
- Frequently changing bedding when the bed is empty or when the senior is in bed, depending on the situation.
- Following department protocol for submission of completed documentation, with particular attention to accuracy and timeliness.
- Prioritizing assignments to complete care for seniors in allotted time, making adjustments throughout the shift to meet frequently changing/overlapping senior/caregiver/coworker/manager needs, call lights, when necessary.
Requirements
To be successful as a CNA PRN Student Flex, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
- CNA Certification in good standing as demonstrated by inclusion on the Nebraska State Registry, preferably in Assisted Living Facilities, required in all other Tabitha living communities.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language, including medical terminology related to the job.
- Ability to recognize and interpret non-verbal cues, respond calmly and clearly to emergencies and emotional situations.
- Physical stamina with the ability to perform duties while moving about the work area for the entire shift with few opportunities to sit down and with little or no break between tasks.
- Strength and agility sufficient to frequently and continuously lift, push, pull, reach, squat, kneel, bend, carry, twist, pinch, grasp, climb stairs while performing duties (such as bathing, toileting, transferring) and manipulating various supplies and equipment.
- Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability and pass a 50-pound physical exam demonstrating strength and agility prior to employment and at Tabitha's discretion.
Working Conditions
This role requires working at least 150 hours every 6 months, with no monthly minimum or weekend requirements. You will also be expected to work at least 8 hours on one holiday per year and be willing to float. As a CNA PRN Student Flex, you will be part of a dynamic team that values your contributions and supports your growth and development.
