Cybersecurity Role Overview

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Strategist and Operations Manager to join their team. This position will play a critical role in strengthening the cybersecurity posture of DHS, fostering collaborative networks across the federal government, and engaging with industry to build a more secure future.

As a member of the DHS Cybersecurity Service, this individual will be part of a dynamic team working on various aspects of cybersecurity, including defensive operations, engineering, and architecture. Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies to protect DHS assets and infrastructure
  • Manage and oversee cybersecurity operations, including threat analysis, incident response, and vulnerability management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on cybersecurity best practices and policies
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in cybersecurity, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in cybersecurity, with 5+ years in leadership roles
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective cybersecurity strategies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and strategically

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $140,000 - $160,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. DHS Cybersecurity Service employees also enjoy a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
