Medical Coding Specialist

Centene Corporation is seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Medical Management/Health Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of medical claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and review medical claims, medical records, and provider billing practices to ensure compliance with coding practices and regulations.
- Utilize code auditing software and provider documentation to identify potential billing errors, abuse, and fraud.
- Collaborate with Medical Directors to validate decisions and identify opportunities to create medical policy in the absence of guidelines.
- Assist with research of health plan coding questions and maintain accurate records and files.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Coding certification and 2+ years of experience in medical billing & coding, coding/data analysis, accounting/business, or physician/hospital data management.
- Experience in provider communication and education preferred.
