Job Responsibilities
  • Document Preparation: Compile and prepare necessary regulatory documents for processing imports.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to US customs regulations during the release of goods.
  • Coordination of Releases: Facilitate the release of shipments from carriers and manage any required examinations by customs or other authorities.
  • Customer Communication: Address inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Customs Clearance Management: Oversee all aspects of customs clearance for shipments.
  • Shipment Tracking: Provide updates on the status of shipments in transit and handle trace requests as needed.
  • Entry Preparation: Prepare customs entries and monitor the clearance process for all entries.
  • Document Management: Organize and maintain essential documents such as bills of lading and dock receipts.
  • Duties Calculation: Calculate applicable duties or tariffs on imported merchandise.
  • Rate Review: Analyze rates, track product movement, and file entries with customs, ensuring accurate valuation.
  • Post-Entry Processing: Manage post-entry tasks including ruling requests and refunds.
  • Regulatory Review: Verify compliance with federal regulations regarding country of origin, terms of sale, and merchandise value.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed about changes in customs regulations.
  • Customer Service: Handle customer claims with a focus on delivering exceptional service and addressing complaints effectively.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Excellent skills in providing customer support.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills required.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Industry Experience: At least three years of experience in the field.
  • Related Experience: A minimum of five years in a similar role.
Physical Requirements
  • Communication: Ability to talk, hear, and use hands for computer operation.
  • Vision: Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are necessary.
  • Work Environment: May require prolonged sitting or standing and use of standard office equipment.
