UNC Rex Thoracic Surgery Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Thoracic Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary team at UNC Rex. As a key member of our thoracic surgery program, you will have the opportunity to work with a high-volume and growing practice in an ideal location with an excellent work-life balance.

About Our Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible Thoracic Surgeon to join our team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care. You will be working with a talented group of specialists who are dedicated to providing the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care available outside an academic medical center.

Responsibilities
  • Provides professional medical services to patients, exercising independent professional judgment in the care and treatment of patients.
  • Orders and prescribes medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care, and other health and medical services.
  • Counsels with patients and families, providing health and medical education to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Documents medical and clinical care in the patient's medical record, assigning appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes for third-party insurance billing.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong background in thoracic surgery, including experience with robot-assisted treatments of thoracic surgical diseases. Advanced endoscopic procedures and first rib resection or pectus repair are also desired. A DEA license, MD degree, and BLS certification are required. Active membership on the Rex Hospital Medical Staff and graduation from an accredited school of medicine are also necessary.

We offer a competitive salary range of $600,000 - $800,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
